Christy Sweeney
Christy Sweeney has been a member of the Kentucky Bar since 2001. After graduating from University of Kentucky’s College of Law, she practiced in the area of insurance defense and subrogation. In 2003, she decided to go out on her own and has been in private practice ever since, refocusing her talents in the areas of business law and contract negotiations, estate planning and criminal defense.
Ms. Sweeney is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and Fayette County Bar Association and admitted to practice before all Kentucky State Courts.
Ms. Sweeney received her undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Kentucky in 1998, double majoring in Spanish and Political Science. While pursuing her education, Ms. Sweeney was actively involved in the university. She served as the President of Pi Sigma Alpha (Political Science Honor Society), and as the Vice President of Societas Pro Legibus (Legal Honorary). She was also a member of the Spanish Honorary and the Golden Key Honorary, as well as the Kentucky Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. While in law school, Mrs. Sweeney was a member of the Student Bar Association and the Women’s Law Caucus.
